Postcard from The Zone

I'm a bit obsessed with Chernobyl's Exclusion Zone. A land created by people but now stronger then them. A remainder of how fragile our civilisation can be... and 90% of nuclear fuel is still there, at the heart of Zone.

Acrylic paints, ink, some Photoshop and Painter on top.

just today a friend had give me a movie from Tartakovski called STALKER. Few weeks ago I was playing to the Stalker game too, without knowing the existence of the tartakovski movie. And now you write a comment in my blog, i come here and I see this post about The Zone...

Tarkovski's movie is incredible visually but it's very different from a book it's based on - "Roadside Picnic" by Strugacki Brothers. That's where idea of stalkers in the zone came from. Game is loosely based on book and mixed with true events from Chernobyl.
