Postcard from The Zone

I'm a bit obsessed with Chernobyl's Exclusion Zone. A land created by people but now stronger then them. A remainder of how fragile our civilisation can be... and 90% of nuclear fuel is still there, at the heart of Zone.

Acrylic paints, ink, some Photoshop and Painter on top.

Thanks for the comment!
Tarkovski's movie is incredible visually but it's very different from a book it's based on - "Roadside Picnic" by Strugacki Brothers. That's where idea of stalkers in the zone came from. Game is loosely based on book and mixed with true events from Chernobyl.
