Hi Lukasz,

I was really impressed with your cloud matte painting. Whilst I'm a photographer at heart my work is heavily influenced by Photoshop, and I've reached a point that I'd like to learn matte painting techniques to incorporate into my photography.

Could you please point me in the direction of any good tutorials, in particular with respect to painting clouds? Or alternatively can you offer any tips?

Many thanks,

Matthew,

Hi Matthew,
Thanks for kind words. You've got some really nice work up on your site, especially portraits.
Regarding matte paintings, I haven't really followed any special training here, I rely on skills and exprience gathered while working on traditional paintings & drawigns and working from nature (as opposed from photos). Perhaps you should take look at gnomon workshop DVDs, they've got a lot of pro stuff and I think I saw DVDs about matte paintings too:

Hi, I too was very interested in your cloud matte painting. I'd like to know what about madness it is meant to portray? I ask because I have a blog about madness I am putting up and I was hoping you wouldn't mind if I used a portion of this image. Cheers.

Hi, I am a schizophrenic and mental health support worker. I would like to use this image for a banner on my personal blog. Could you explain to me what about madness you feel it portrays and would it be all right with you if I did use your painting in that capacity?

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for interest in my work.
"Madness Returns" is a title of computer game. This painting was used as a background in a trailer animation promoting the game. The painting itself was not meant to be independent piece. You can probably draw a link between this composition and a madness in a way but it was more about a certain atmosphere rather then literal relationships.
Unfortunately, I can't grant any rights to this picture. It was done for and belongs to Passion Pictures now, a company that produced the animation trailer...

Greetings,
Lukasz
